Highlights
Schedule
Beta: Scheduled for May 8, 2026.
Production: TBD.
Supports the use of a Custom Port for the RDP protocol.
Workspot Enterprise Browser Features
Support for using a OneDrive directory for Enterprise Browser downloads instead of a directory on the the local device.
Support for Enterprise Browser's media redirection feature, allowing URLs opened on the Workspot desktop to open locally in the Workspot Enterprise Browser.
Audio/video conferencing is now supported on Microsoft Teams running in the Workspot Browser.
Support for Workspot Browser-Only deployments (that is, customers who have chosen to use only the Workspot Enterprise Browser and not desktop/application pools).
Logging and Notification
Client log files retained after a Client Reset operation to facilitate debugging. To delete the log files, uninstall the Client.
Password expiration reminders: Users are optionally notified that their desktop/app password has expired or will expire soon. This feature is available only for customers using third-party identity providers. This is a selective feature: contact Workspot to enable it.
The Client reports additional status and debugging information to Watch and in its local logs, including the installation type and mode.
The Client device's GPU type and driver release number are now saved as part of the Client logs.
Device details such as RDP version, time zone, number of monitors, and Client options are now reported to Watch.
Control is now notified whenever a Client user pastes data from the clipboard of a Workspot desktop/application to an application or drive on the local device.
Other Features
Supports the use of a Custom Port for the RDP protocol.
The Client Gateway Selection algorithm has been improved. It now probes gateways in real time avoid gateways that aren't available.
Fixed Bugs
A bug that sometimes produced the message, "An error occurred in the authentication module" in Entra ID and Okta logins has been fixed.
A bug that could intermittently prevent users from signing in has been fixed.
A bug that prevented the login message configured in Control from appearing has been fixed.
Known Issues
Workspot Enterprise Browser
The OneDrive download feature of the Workspot Enterprise Browser does not work on domain-joined Entra ID desktops except for Microsoft 365 Web Applications.
The OneDrive download feature of the Workspot Enterprise Browser does not support Control’s "No" option for "Restrict OneDrive downloads to registered user." If the user signs into OneDrive via the Enterprise Browser with a different login from their Client account, all downloads will fail. Workaround: Set "Restrict OneDrive downloads to registered user" to "Yes” in Control.
If Workspot Media Redirection isn't working for a given user,
Reboot their desktop and restart their Workspot Client to force them to update to the most recent policies.
Verify that the registry entry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge\NativeMessagingAllowlist" includes "com.workspot.blr". Add this if it is not present.
When Media Redirection is in use, the taskbar of the Client device is displayed instead of that of the Workspot desktop. When multiple monitors are used, this happens only on the monitor containing the Workspot Enterprise Browser window.
The Client may crash while downloading multi-gigabyte files via the Enterprise Browser.
Other
(Entra ID Only deployments) When using RDS AAD Authentication on a domain-joined desktop, if you select "Use Microsoft Dialog for Login" and "Allow fallback to non-NLA RDP connections" on the "Add/Edit Pool" page, the end-user has to login twice using two different dialog box styles. All other combinations work as expected.
When using the Teams Plugin, Launching Microsoft Teams on the Workspot Desktop may terminate an exiting Teams call on the local (Client) device. This occurs when the local device is running Windows 11 24H2 and the Teams Plugin is enabled.
The "Connection Quality" display reports poor link quality too inaccurately for daily use, which is why it is disabled by default. Workaround: Enable this feature only when troubleshooting connection issues. Note that the RTT estimate is more reliable than the bandwidth estimate.
Display zoom does not work on multi-monitor apps, nor can a zoomed single-monitor app be moved to a different display.
Supported Platforms
Windows 11.
