Installation

Installing the Release Manually

The Client will available for manual installation from Workspot's download site (https://download.workspot.com) using the links below:

Installing the Release Automatically

Workspot’s (highly recommended) automatic updates via Deployment Rings will start after the release as follows:

  • The Stable Ring (recommended for most users) is always set to the most recent production release.

  • The Preview Ring (recommended for beta testers and early adopters) is always set to the most recent beta release or production release, whichever is newer.

Known Issues

  • When display zoom is set in the Client, you cannot move a Workspot app from one display to another.

  • When a power-managed desktop resumes from sleep, the connection may time out prematurely with the error "There was a problem starting your desktop. Please contact your administrator." The end-user should retry the connection BEFORE contacting the administrator, since this usually works.

  • Users of Windows 11 Client devices are reported in Control's "User Details" page as using Windows 10.

  • If you assign a Linux desktop to a user manually in Control, and the user connects to it for the first time with the Windows Client, the Client is supposed to prompt the user for sign-in credentials. Instead, the Client tries the most recently used credentials from another Workspot desktop/app first. If these succeed, the user is signed in automatically.

  • Linux desktops do not support Client drive redirection.

  • Desktop zoom is not supported when you have enabled multiple monitors (instead, Zoom is always 100%), but the Client lets you set a zoom level anyway.

  • When a Workspot desktop or App shows a login dialog, you have to click on the first field even though it appears to be selected already.

  • Sometimes nothing happens if a user closes and then reopens the same app immediately. Workaround: Wait 1-2 minutes and try again.
