The Workspot Log Collector is an interactive diagnostic utility designed to simplify log collection across Workspot components. Packaged as a standalone application, it eliminates the need for manual log gathering—simply launch the executable and follow the guided interface.

Overview

The tool automatically collects diagnostic data from the following Workspot components:

  • Client

    • Workspot Windows Client logs

    • Registry settings

    • Client installation path, etc.

  • Gateway

    • Gateway agent/plugin logs

    • IIS authentication providers

    • NTLM configuration and restrictions

  • Virtual Desktop & Cloud App

    • Agent logs

    • GPU information

    • Service status

    • Group Policy settings, etc.

  • Enterprise Connector

    • Connector logs

    • DNS and domain validation checks

How to Use

  1. Download the tool from the provided link: Workspot Log Collector.zip

  2. Extract the ZIP file.

  3. Copy the executable to the target machine.

  4. Run the tool:

    • Note: The tool will run with elevated privileges.

  5. In the application:

    • Select the device type you are working on.

    • Monitor progress in the Logs tab.

  6. Once complete:

    • Review the Completion tab for:

      • Collected items

      • Skipped steps (if any)

      • Output file location


Output Details

  • Logs are saved to:

    %USERPROFILE%\Logs\WS_DeviceLogs\<HOSTNAME>\
    
  • The tool generates:

    • A structured log folder

    • A compressed ZIP archive

    • A corresponding SHA-256 hash file for integrity verification


Security & Data Handling

The generated output contains user and system information, including:

  • Hostnames

  • Usernames

  • Authentication events

  • Registry and policy configurations

  • Domain and environment details

Best Practices:

  • Share output files through the Zendesk ticket or approved secure channels


Compliance Considerations

  • No personal data is collected beyond User and system-level identifiers required for diagnostics

  • No credentials or passwords are captured

  • All collected data remains local to the machine until explicitly shared

  • Outputs are timestamped to support auditing and traceability
