Workspot Control Release 18.7 Notes

Highlights

  • The new Custom Cloud feature allows you to declare ad hoc collections of existing virtual or physical Windows devices. Devices are added to pools through the Control API and managed through the Control UI afterward. These desktops are not tied to any particular hypervisor.

  • The Workspot Media Extension now supports finer-grained control over which conferencing packages are redirected. You can also specify custom URLs to be redirected instead of or in addition to the predefined choices. These custom URLs are not restricted to conferencing sites but can be anything.

  • Warmup Policies for non-persistent desktop pools now give you the option of hibernating rather than deleting unassigned desktops when a time slot calls for a reduction. This speeds up the process of making a desktop ready later. Initial support is for Azure. Both GPU and non-GPU non-persistent desktops are supported.

  • Stale device detection. Customers using Entra ID-only (Azure AD-only) deployments on Azure can use the Control API to discover (GET staleDevices) and delete (POST staleDevices) lists of zombie VM entries that can be left over when a desktop is deleted.

  • Administrators can now reboot, redeploy, pause, or resume more than one desktop at a time from the “Bulk Operations” button on the "Resources > VDI Pools > poolname" page.
