Workspot Control Release 19.2 Notes

Highlights

  • Schedule:

    • US Control: updated on July 26, 2025.

    • EU Control: updated on July 29, 2025.

  • Many new Control API calls in several categories:

    • Template management: list, clone, publish, unpublish, register, and delete templates.

    • Gateway management: Create and manage Gateways and Gateway Clusters.

    • Clouds: List Clouds and the regions, zones, and networks in each Cloud.

  • API connection throttling gives more consistent results when the Cloud provider is under high load.

  • Simplified GCP template updating when using a Windows Server OS on a desktop pool. (These improvements are dependent on the upcoming Desktop Agent 4.4.0 release.)

  • Managed Gateways now support up to fifteen gateways per cluster (the previous limit was five).

  • On Amazon Workspaces Core, alternative VM classes will be used if the preferred type is unavailable.

  • On Azure, Workspot Windows 11 templates and VMs are now compatible with Docker nested virtualization.

  • Improved failover to alternate zones in the same region if there is no capacity in the default zone. See Multizone Desktop Pools.

  • If you delete a desktop in a non-default zone in the Cloud region, it will be recreated in the default zone when possible. See Multizone Desktop Pools.

  • Support for GCP N4 machine types.

  • Support for the upcoming Auto Diagnostics feature enables the Workspot Client to upload diagnostic logs to Workspot Watch after an error. This feature is enabled in Control in "Settings > Configuration." This feature will be live with the 7.0 Windows Client release, with other Clients to follow.

  • You can now reboot multiple vSphere desktops at once through the "Resources > Cloud Desktop Pools > poolname" page. Select the checkboxes for the desired desktops, click "Bulk Operations," verify that "Reboot" is selected, and click "Submit."

  • On Amazon Workspaces Core, you can select Shared hosts or Dedicated hosts when creating a desktop pool or application server pool.

  • A bug that sometimes prevented Control from relinquishing a BYOcloud concurrent license, and thus reported more licenses in use than it should, has been fixed.

  • Control no longer tries to update Enterprise Connector to versions that require JRE 21 if JRE 21 is not installed. That is: updates now require JRE 21. See Customer Advisory: Mandatory JRE Update Required on All Workspot Enterprise Connectors.

Known Issues

New Known Issue

A bug in GCP power management has caused them to disable support for Pause (Sleep) mode in desktop pools running Windows Server 2025 or Windows 11 24H2. See GGP's article at https://cloud.google.com/compute/docs/troubleshooting/known-issues#windows_2025_suspend_resume.
