What to Expect During a Control Update Window

During a Control update, Control goes offline for part of the update window listed in the release announcement. This may happen more than once but usually involves less than ten minutes of total downtime.

How the update window affects Workspot customers:

Control Administrators

  • The Control UI becomes unavailable or unresponsive.

  • Control tasks in progress during the maintenance window may need to be repeated.

  • Best practices:

    • Avoid using the Control UI during the maintenance window.

    • At a minimum, verify that tasks started in this period have been completed, using Event log messages or Workspot Watch.

    • If the Control UI has changed as part of the update, you may need to refresh the current Control page.

    • Some updates may terminate your Control session, so you will need to sign in again.

Client Users

  • Existing desktop/app sessions will continue to run normally.

  • New persistent desktop sessions can be launched normally if launched from a Client that has connected to that desktop before.

  • New non-persistent sessions and application sessions cannot be launched until Control is back online, though existing sessions will continue to run normally.
