Workspot Monitor/Window Size Limitations

Prev Next

When you connect to a Workspot remote desktop, app, or workstation, it has the same limitations as Microsoft's Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).

Maximum Display or Window Size

The maximum pixel dimensions of a single monitor in full-screen mode, or a window in windowed mode, is 8192x8192 pixels. This is slightly larger than an 8K (Ultra HD) monitor in either landscape or portrait mode.

The RDP protocol supports up to sixteen monitors with a combined resolution of 32766 x 32766. For example, it can accommodate an 8x2 array of 4K monitors and a 4x4 array of HD monitors.

Virtual desktops running RemoteFX vGPU are limited to 4K resolution on a single monitor.

See Microsoft's Remote Desktop Protocol Maximum Supported Resolutions for more information.

Minimum Window Size

The minimum size of a remote display window is 640x480 pixels.

Desktop Zoom

The Workspot Clients support the RDP 10 "desktop zoom" feature, which scales the remote desktop in the range of 100%-200% in discrete steps of 100%, 125%, 150%, 175%, and 200%. This is equivalent to the "Display Settings > desktop scaling" on a local Windows 10 system. When displaying a desktop on a device with a small screen, using a zoom of greater than 100% makes the desktop more legible.
