Release 3.8.0
December, 2023.
Agent on app servers now reports the session type for each application session, which is one of: Desktop, Rail, Alternate_Shell, or Unknown.
Agent now reports the number of physical processors on application servers.
Agent now reports the user's UPN as well as their username.
Agent now reports license server information to Control.
Release 3.7.0
The Desktop Agent now supports the diagnostic reporting features previously available only on the Gateway Agent.
The delay between a user signing in and the Agent reporting sign-in-related statistics to Control has been shortened from ten minutes to less than three minutes. (The delay exists to allow the user to get to work more quickly, but was longer than necessary and was confusing.)
On application servers, the Agent now reports an estimate of per-user published application usage to Control. These reports are estimates because the reports have a five-minute granularity.
On application servers, Agent now reports CPU and memory usage for published applications.
Release 3.6.0
When the Workspot Agent runs on an applications server (RD server), it now samples the CPU usage, memory usage, and current users of each Workspot application. The sampling is done every thirty seconds and reported to Control every five minutes.
The report contains, for each application, the name of the application, the average CPU load, the average memory load, the maximum CPU load, the maximum memory load, and the list of users.
The Workspot Agent now reports to Control that a Windows Update is pending before rebooting to allow the cause of the longer-than-usual startup time to be known.
The Workspot Agent now reports its “Ready” status to Control earlier in the VMs startup process.
Release 3.5.0
Agent now reports connection and session data for users of RD Server pools as well as desktop pools.
Agent now reports the values of the following Windows Remote Desktop policy settings, if set: "Configure image quality for RemoteFX Adaptive Graphics," "Use advanced RemoteFX graphics for RemoteApp," "Prioritize H.264/AVC 444 graphics mode for Remote Desktop Connections," and "Configure H.264/AVC hardware encoding for Remote Desktop Connections." Workspot desktops honor all these settings, so this information is useful in troubleshooting.
Agent now reports the Windows Power Scheme settings of Workspot desktops. Inappropriate settings can cause problems with Workspot desktops, so this information is useful in troubleshooting.
If someone uses two Workspot RD/RD Pool applications simultaneously, Agent now reports this unambiguously as two independent sessions instead of one.
Initial Agent support for the upcoming Workspot Media Extension package. (The feature also depends on the upcoming Client-side components, which will be available initially for the Workspot Web Client.) Agent will auto-install the Cloud Desktop component of the Media Extension automatically. This installation is visible in the Windows “Add or Remove Programs” app.
Release 3.4.0
Improved data reporting for AMD GPUs.
Better Azure Windows 11 integration by reporting Azure resource link to Control.
Desktops resuming from standby or hibernation now check for Agent updates shortly after resuming if they slept through the usual update period.
Reliability improvements.
Release 3.3.0
December, 2022.
Agent now supports Time Limits Policies on RD Pool servers.
Template VMs can now be joined to domains in the same way that desktop VMs can, allowing domain users to sign into the template. This is controlled by the new "Workspot-Template-DomainJoin" option in workspotconfig.xml.
Release 3.2.0
September, 2022.
The Agent supports the "retainName" parameter in the "upgradeDesktop" Control API call. If "yes," the migrated desktop receives the DNS name of the original. If "no," it gets a new name that's consistent with the target pool.
Release 3.1.0
August, 2022.
The Agent now disables the "Sleep" and "Shutdown" buttons from the Workspot desktop's "Start" menu, as manual sleep and shutdown often cannot be reversed without IT intervention.
Agent now reports the thumbprint of the Workspot desktop's Windows RDP certificate to Control, which relays it to the Client. When connecting, the Client compares this expected value to the one provided directly by the RDP protocol to ensure that it is talking to the correct (genuine) target system, closing the connection with a warning message if not.
When a Workspot desktop is first booted, the Agent now expands the boot disk partition to use all available space automatically.
Release 3.0.0
July, 2022.
Initial support for the Amazon AWS Cloud. Among other things, Agent reports the Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the desktop to Control during template and desktop registration so Control can track which VM is which.
Azure AD improvements. Agent now supports Azure AD Bulk Primary Refresh Tokens (BPRTs) to register desktops to your Azure AD domain. The BPRT is provided by Control. Agent uses the standard Windows Configuration Designer (WCD)package to join the desktop to the domain.
Agent now reports disk fullness and performance.
Agent now reports the number of logical processors and processor cores.
