Select Single Tenant Node (STN) Type

How important is selecting STN type?

Currently, Control has only one choice of STN when creating a pool on Google Cloud. This becomes an issue if a region does not have that node type, or if the customer wants to use another STN node type for cost/usage optimization reasons.

What do they do?

Customers on BYOC/Ent/Ent++ , can now select STN while creating a pool on Google Cloud subscription.

Use Cases:

  • A customer wants to get a particular node type on Google Cloud in the region where most of their employees are located due to their discounted price on the node . With this process, once the new node type is added to catalogue, the user can create a pool for their end users.

  • Customer wants to use a STN type with higher capacity (Node Type: n2-node-128-864  instead of n2-node-80-640) for better usage based on their user count. They can select appropriate node type while on BYOC/Ent/Ent++ plan
