Enabling Time Zone Redirection for Workspot Clients with VDI Desktop(s) and RDS Sessions
Summary
VDI desktops and Remote Desktop Services (RDS) deployments are typically centralized depending on use cases and workflows. This can mean that Workspot users can potentially be in another time zone and when users connect to their resources, the display time for their VDI desktop or published Outlook (RDS) will be the time zone of the resource’s location rather than the user's.
Workspot client supports Time Zone Redirection group policy to solve this. On the template VM, implement the following Group Policy (GPO) update to enable Time Zone Redirection support:
Locate the GPO setting: Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Device and Resource Redirection > Allow time zone redirection
Select Enabled for this setting.
Use a domain Group Policy to ensure the time zone redirection policy is enforced.
Note: This setting is available for both User and Computer configuration.
