Summary
What: Your Workspot deployment needs to be updated to use Workspot Desktop Agent 2.4.5 or higher across the board.
When: As soon as possible.
Affected Products: Workspot Templates, Workspot Desktops, Workspot RD Pools.
Details
The Workspot Agent is designed to auto-update to the current version. However, only Agents already running Agent 2.4.5 and above have the capability of updating to a modern Agent.
Workspot no longer supports these pre-2.4.5 Agents, nor do we test our current products against them.
Actions Required
Update Outdated Desktop Templates
In Workspot Control, go to the Templates page via "Setup > Cloud > cloudname." (Note: the Templates page iscalled the "Manage Subscriptions" page.)
Scan down the "Agent Version" column in the list of templates for Agent versions less than 2.4.5. These templates (if still in use) must be updated.
Clone and update the templates according to the procedure in Workspot Desktop Agent Installation and Configuration
Update the pools using the old templates to use the new ones. In Control, go to "Resources > Manage Virtual Desktop Pools" page and scan the "Template" column for pools using the outdated templates from Step 2. For each of these pools, select "Action > Update Image" to select the appropriate updated templates from Step 3.
Update Outdated Persistent Desktops
The same pools whose templates you updated above may need some or all of their desktops manually updated to the current Agent.
For the desktop pools whose templates were updated in the previous procedure, click on "Resources > Manage Virtual Desktop Pools > poolname > Detailed" and scan the Agent Version column.
Any desktops running Agents prior to 2.4.5 will need to be updated manually, using the "Installing the Agent" procedure in Workspot Desktop Agent Installation and Configuration except that you sign into an individual desktop instead of a template.
Any unassigned persistent desktops can simply be deleted and recreated. This is easiest if you edit the pool to enable "Auto-Create on Desktop Delete." Don't do this to actual users' desktops.
Non-Persistent Desktops
Non-persistent desktops are assumed to be periodically reimaged through the "Refresh Periodically" option on the "Edit Pools" menu. Even if you don't normally use this option, setting it temporarily will ensure that the desktops in the pool will eventually be updated.
