The Problem

Microsoft has changed the size of the BRPT token used in Entra ID authentication. This change affects Workspot’s Entra ID-Only customers’ ability to sign into their Workspot desktops.

Are you Affected?

Most customers are not affected.

This issue affects customer with Workspot’s “Entra ID-Only” selective option, which allows Entra ID to be used instead of Active Directory on Workspot desktops and application servers.

The Solution

Windows Desktop Agent 4.5.1 solves this issue.

Existing Persistent Desktops and Application Servers

Your Workspot desktops and application servers will automatically update starting on October 11, 2025 in the US and October 14, 2025 in the EU.

Templates and New VMs

Your templates need to be updated to use Agent 4.5.1, and these updated templates need to be applied to your desktop pools and application server pools for new VMs to function properly.

Procedure

For each template currently used by a pool:

  1. Clone your existing template. This will create a new draft-mode template.

  2. Sign into the cloned template.

  3. Install Agent 4.5.1 manually.

  4. Apply the template to the pool.
