Data Collection for Self Service Diagnostics

What:

Self Service Diagnostics option enables the collection of performance-related data, such as CPU and memory load, network metrics like latency, bandwidth, and more. Collecting this data will help the users assess the health of the VDI connection and trigger system-level actions when poor connection quality is detected.

The “Enable End-User Diagnostics” checkbox has been added to Desktop and Application Server Pools on the “Add Pool” and “Edit Pool” pages in Control. When enabled, the upcoming diagnostic alerts user about issues with their client session. For example, high CPU and memory usage and a poor Wifi connection. Please note, that the client-side support will be coming up in future client releases, starting with Windows client.

Why:

Performance issues in remoted environments—such as slowness, frequent disconnects, or poor responsiveness—are often caused by underlying infrastructure problems, including high latency, network instability (e.g., jitter), packet loss, or overloaded hardware. By identifying these issues proactively and alerting the user, can improve the remoted experience by informing the user early.
