Customer Advisory: Workspot Control Supports TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 Only

Prev Next

Summary

Workspot Control accepts connections only via TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3. Earlier TLS versions will be rejected (SSL connections are already rejected.)

Who is Affected

All devices running Workspot software open TLS connections to Workspot Control (https://control.workspot.com). This includes Workspot Clients, Workspot desktops (via Workspot Agent), and so on. Administrators using the Workspot Control UI open secure browser connections to Workspot Control. For all these functions, Workspot Control only accepts TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3.

The Workspot Control API (https://api.workspot.com) also accepts only TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 connections.

TLS is a long-established standard. It is supported natively by all Workspot-supported operating systems and all modern browsers. Thus, you are likely to be affected only if:

  • A device uses an unsupported OS, such as Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008.

  • TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 support have been disabled on a device.

Call to Action

If some of your devices do not support TLS 1.2 or TLS 1.3, they should be reconfigured, updated, or replaced.
