On November 30, 2023, Microsoft released a version of Teams and Teams plugin for VDI. As a result, audio / video optimizations with the New Teams(November 30 version) does not work. Workspot is working closely with Microsoft for a resolution.
Microsoft has a mandatory change over date of March 31, 2024 listed for users to switch to New Teams. Please be aware this does not apply to VDI users. End users on VDI devices have a date set of October 1, 2024. After that time Classic teams will be End of Support. This will provide Microsoft adequate time to mitigate the issues they are currently facing.
At this time, we recommend our customers to stay on Classic Teams and not switch to New Teams in the Guest OS.
Switch back to Classic Teams can be done by clicking on the three dots menu(…) and then toggle ‘OFF’ the New Teams button( as shown in the following screenshot).
You can also configure Classic Teams via Teams management console as the default:
