Problems Seen

After upgrading Cisco or Fortigate VPN hardware, Workspot Client users can no longer sign in. The Client's "VPN Login" screen returns a "Login failed" result on valid credentials.

Root Cause

Cisco and Fortinet no longer support clientless SSL VPNs in their most recent releases.

Restoring Connectivity

If you have this problem, use one of the options below to restore connectivity:

Option 1: Roll Back to an Earlier VPN Version

Roll back your VPN hardware to the previous working release, or to one no later than Cico ASA 9.14 FortiGate 6.0.

Option 2: Install a Separate VPN Client on Your End-Users' Devices

  • Using a vendor-supported VPN client will restore compatibility.

  • Contact Workspot for guidance on implementing this option.

Preserving Connectivity

To ensure that you don't encounter this issue in the future:

  • Do not update your VPNs above Cisco ASA 9.14(4) or Fortigate 6.0.

  • Consider updating to vendor-supported VPN clients or an RD Gateway solution. Contact Workspot for guidance on these options.
