# Workspot Q & A: What Ciphers and TLS/SSL Protocols are Uses for Desktop Sessions?

The information in this article covers [Workspot Managed Gateways](/v1/docs/managed-gateways-gateway-clusters). Unmanaged (Private Cloud) Gateways are not managed by Workspot and use the cipher suite and secure protocols you specify in Windows Server.

### Q: Which ciphers are used for the virtual session”

**A:** On Managed Gateways, the Gateway Agent ensures that only the following ciphers are enabled on the Remote Desktop Protocol’s TCP and UDP Ports. Cipher precedence is from top to bottom:

### **Q:** Which ciphers are disabled?

**A:**

- The NULL Cipher Suites is Disabled
- The DES Cipher Suites are Disabled
- The RC4 Cipher Suites are Disabled
- The AES 128/128 Cipher Suite are Disabled

### Q: Which protocols are disabled?

**A:** On Managed Gateways, the Gateway Agent ensures these ciphers are disabled:

- SSL 1.0-3.0.
- TLS 1.0.
- TLS 1.1.
