Workspot Control Release 18.5 Notes

Latest update: August 8, 2024 by Robert Plamondon

Highlights

  • If you return a Preview-mode template to Draft state, update it, and publish it as Preview again, the Preview pool desktops are reimaged from the updated template. Previously, you had to do this manually. See Using Workspot Templates.

  • Time Limits Policies are now supported for all Public and Private Clouds. However, different Clouds support different types and degrees of power management.

  • Control now supports managed gateways on ordinary (non-virtual) Windows Servers. Previously, they were supported only on AWS, Azure, and GCP. These are managed from Control. The previous unmanaged gateways could not be monitored from Control or Watch; these can.

  • Support for upcoming prefilled Client account (domain\username) feature, which will allow the Client to ensure that end-users will use only their own accounts to sign into Workspot desktops and apps. Full support requires an updated Client, starting with Windows Client 6.1. See Control: Desktop Pools.

  • Application Server Pools can now be scheduled for a weekly reboot on Hyper-V and VMware.

  • Support for Azure "Encryption at host" disk encryption, which provides end-to-end encryption between all Workspot desktop and app server VMs in an Azure region and their storage.
