The Workspot Clients support either the user’s AD email address, their UPN (User Principal Name) address, or both. UPN addresses always take the form of user@example.com or user@subdomain.example.com. These are mapped to your AD (Active Directory) usernames and domains as follows:
UPN Name | AD Equivalent |
ANVIL\coyote | |
default\coyote |
Where default is the default AD domain specified in Workspot Control under “Setup > Configuration > User Registration and Authentication.”
These credentials are verified by your AD domain controller.
Prerequisite
Workspot Enterprise Connector must be configured to communicate with your AD server (this will almost always be true already).
Configuring UPN Sign-In
Global Configuration
UPN sign-in is enabled in Workspot Control at “Setup > Configuration > Registration and Authentication > Registration Options.” This is a global selection that affects all Client users. See also Control Setup: Configuration Page.

Private Cloud Configuration
Once UPN is enabled, you have the option of enabling UPN, email address, or both. This is done in the Private Cloud definition that is associated with your Enterprise Connectors, under “Setup > Cloud > Private Clouds > cloudname > Configs > Edit.”
Discovery Order
You can configure the Connectors associated with this Cloud (or for the entire company if this is the only Cloud with Connector definitions) to use the Email field, the UPN field, or both. When selecting both, you choose which one is searched first by Connector:

UPN and the Workspot Clients
UPN configuration has no visible effect on Workspot Client users if they would enter the same email address regardless of its configuration. If the UPN and email addresses both exist and are not the same, let your users know which one to use.
