Static Outgoing IP Addresses for Control

Prev Next

Some customers have firewalled access to their Cloud provider portals, requiring that API requests to come from known IP addresses. For example, creating a new VM or deleting an existing one can only happen if the request comes from a whitelisted IP address as well as having appropriate credentials.

Control uses dynamic IP addresses by default, making whitelisting impractical. To deal with this, Workspot now offers a Static Outgoing IP Address optional feature to use known IP source addresses when making calls to the Cloud provider’s API.

Note: “Workspot Control” includes multiple services underlying the Control UI, the Control API, etc. Some of these use independent IP addresses, so you need to whitelist all the IP addresses for your Control location (EU or US).

Static Outgoing IP Selective Feature

  • Currently GCP-only.

  • Selective feature: contact Workspot to have it enabled.

  • Add the following Control Static IP addresses to their GCP API access firewall:

    • Customers using US Control : 54.175.230.252, 54.173.229.200, 35.155.126.7, 34.211.26.105, 35.162.93.177, 44.233.97.76, 18.205.90.146, 3.209.7.14, 44.199.72.73, 52.2.160.8.

    • Customers using EU Control: 18.156.211.76, 18.199.187.232, 3.67.115.63, 3.120.154.111.

  • Control will contact your Cloud Provider’s API from these addresses.

  • Control will now function normally.
