# Persistent VM Used Count Mismatch in Control

****A mismatch can appear when the **Used** count shown in **Control**does not match the actual number of assigned desktops in the pool.

**Example**: In a pool with 3 desktops (2 assigned, 1 unassigned), the expected count is: **Used: 2 / Available: 1** **Note:**A desktop assigned to a user is counted as Used even if its Agent status is Error/Failed. Suspended desktops are excluded from both the Used and Available counts.

### **How to Fix the Count Mismatch**

1. **Verify desktop assignments** in both Control and Watch at the pool level.
  - Check if every desktop that shows as assigned in *Control* also shows as assigned in *Watch*.
2. If you find a desktop **assigned in Control but not in Watch**, do either of the following:
  - **Reboot** the desktop from Control, this clears stale/cached assignments, **OR**
  - **Reassign** the desktop to the user from Control.
3. If the Used count still appears incorrect after performing the above steps, **open a ticket with Workspot Support** for deeper investigation.
