# Getting Started with Workspot

Creating your Workspot Deployment depends on the initial type of deployment and the method of deployment: Workspot Enterprise Browser (Only) Deployment or Workspot Cloud Desktop and App Server Deployment.

### Workspot Enterprise Browser (Only) Deployment

These deployments use the Workspot Enterprise Browser without Workspot Desktops and Application Servers. Follow the instructions in [Getting Started with Workspot Enterprise Browser](/v1/docs/workspot-browser-free-30-day-access).

### Workspot Cloud Desktop and App Server Deployment

These are the typical Workspot deployments, supporting pools of Workspot Desktops and Application Servers, either in the Cloud or on-premises.

> **Note:** The Workspot Enterprise Browser is bundled into all Cloud deployments.

For major Clouds, we offer a semi-automated deployment using Terraform as well as manual procedures.

Find your Cloud in the sections below. Choices are Akamai, Amazon WorkSpaces Core, Azure, GCP, Nutanix, and VMware/vSphere.

#### Akamai Deployment

- See [Manual Installation](/v1/docs/getting-started-with-workspot#manual-installation), below. (Terraform deployment isn’t available for Akamai.)

#### Amazon Workspaces Core Deployment

Choose between:

- [Amazon Workspaces Core Deployment using Terraform](/v1/docs/creating-a-new-workspot-deployment-on-amazon-workspaces-core).
- Manual installation. See [Manual Installation](/v1/docs/getting-started-with-workspot#manual-installation), below.

#### Microsoft Azure

Choose between:

- [Azure Deployment using Terraform](/v1/docs/getting-started-with-azure-1).
- Manual installation. See [Manual Installation](/v1/docs/getting-started-with-workspot#manual-installation), below.

#### Google GCP

Choose between:

- [GCP Deployment using Terraform](/v1/docs/getting-started-with-google-gcp).
- Manual installation. See [Manual Installation](/v1/docs/getting-started-with-workspot#manual-installation), below.

#### Nutanix and VMware/Vsphere

- See [Manual Installation](/v1/docs/getting-started-with-workspot#manual-installation), below.

## Manual Installation

Non-Terraform deployments use the nine steps below.

### 1. Create Workspot Landing Zone in Public/Private Cloud

Preliminary steps to ensure your target network, whether in the Cloud or on-premises, is ready for Workspot.

- [Create a Workspot Landing Zone](/v1/docs/create-workspot-landing-zone)

### 2. Create Workspot Control Subscription

This step creates your Workspot subscription and performs initial configuration of Workspot Control.

- [Create Workspot Tenant](/v1/docs/create-workspot-control-tenant)

### 3. Add Public/Private Cloud to Workspot Control

If you will be using multiple Clouds, pick one to bring up first. You can return and add the others later.

- [Akamai](/v1/docs/akamai-cloud-overview)
- [Amazon WorkSpaces Core](/v1/docs/adding-amazon-aws-to-workspot)
- [Azure](/v1/docs/creating-a-service-principal-in-azure)
- [GCP](https://docs.workspot.com/v1/docs/creating-workspot-cloud-configuration-for-gcp)
- [Nutanix](/v1/docs/create-the-nutanix-private-cloud-in-workspot-control)
- [VMware/vSphere](/v1/docs/create-the-vmware-vsphere-private-cloud-in-workspot-control)

### 4. Prepare Workspot Infrastructure in Public/Private Cloud

Workspot deployments generally require AD integration, provided by Workspot Enterprise Connector, and an RD Gateway so end-users can use the Workspot Client to reach their Workspot desktops and applications.

- [Install Enterprise Connector](/v1/docs/workspot-enterprise-connector)
- [Create Managed Gateways](/v1/docs/managed-gateways-gateway-clusters)(Amazon WorkSpaces Core, Azure, GCP)
- [Create Unmanaged Gateways](/v1/docs/manually-configure-a-gateway-server)(Akamai, Nutanix, VMware/vSphere)

### 5. Create a Workspot Desktop Template

Templates from which Control can create desktops and application servers are configured and made available to Control here.

- Akamai (TBD)
- [Amazon Workspaces Core](/v1/docs/workspaces-core-template-set-up)
- [Azure](https://docs.workspot.com/v1/docs/creating-workspot-templates-in-azure)
- [GCP](https://docs.workspot.com/v1/docs/creating-workspot-templates-for-gcp)
- [Nutanix](https://docs.workspot.com/v1/docs/creating-workspot-windows-1011-template-for-nutanix)
- [VMware/vSphere](/v1/docs/creating-workspot-windows-1011-template-for-vsphere)

### 6. Create a Workspot Desktop Pool

- [Create Workspot VDI Desktop Pool](/v1/docs/control-desktop-pools)

### 7. Add Users and Assign Desktops

- [Adding Users via Self-Registration and Resource Entitlements](/v1/docs/user-self-registration-and-resource-entitlements)
- [Assign a User to a Specific Desktop](/v1/docs/assigning-workspot-users-to-a-specific-desktop-in-a-desktop-pool)

### 8. Download and Use Workspot Clients

- [Download and Install Workspot Clients](https://www.workspot.com/download/)
- [Use the Workspot Web Client](/v1/docs/workspot-client-for-the-web)
- [Client Activation Video](/v1/docs/windows-client-activation)

### 9. Monitor via Workspot Watch and Trends

- [Using Workspot Watch](/v1/docs/using-workspot-watch)
- [Using Workspot Trends](/v1/docs/using-workspot-trends)
