# Akamai Cloud Overview

Workspot support for the [Akamai Cloud](https://www.akamai.com/cloud) began with Control 25.11.

This is a selective feature: Contact Workspot if you are interested in enabling it.

### Features

- Define an Akamai Cloud subscription in Workspot Control (see [below](/v1/docs/akamai-cloud-overview#configuring-an-akamai-cloud-in-workspot-control)).
- Define an Akamai [unmanaged RD gateway](/v1/docs/remote-desktop-gateway-rdg-configuration-and-workspot-integration-guide) in Control.
- [Workspot template support](/v1/docs/using-workspot-templates):
  - Register Akamai Windows templates in Control.
- Create Windows pools in Control:
  - [Persistent desktop pools](/v1/docs/control-desktop-pools).
  - [Non-persistent desktop pools](/v1/docs/control-desktop-pools) (Control 26.1 and up).
  - [Application server pools](/v1/docs/workspot-application-server-pools-cloud-app-pools) (Control 26.1 and up).

### Limitations

- [Linux desktop pools](/v1/docs/workspot-linux-desktops-and-apps) are not supported.
- [Managed gateways](/v1/docs/managed-gateways-gateway-clusters) are not supported.
- [Time Limits Policies](/v1/docs/control-time-limit-policies) and power management are not supported (desktops run 24/7).
- Some pool operations are not supported: Update image, Agent token, bulk operations, image lock, VM migration.
- Some desktop details are not available.
- [Helpdesk Admin role](/v1/docs/control-helpdesk-and-support-administrator-roles) is not supported.
- [The Control API](/v1/docs/using-the-workspot-control-api)is not supported.

## Configuring an Akamai Cloud in Workspot Control

1. In Control, go to “Setup > Cloud” and click “Add Public Cloud.” You will be taken to the “Add Public Cloud” page.

1. On the “Add Public Cloud” page:
  1. Choose a name for Control to use when referring to this Cloud, such as “AKAMAI-Cloud.”
  2. In “Configuration Type,” select “Akamai Cloud”
  3. In “Token Label", enter the name of the access token you have configured in Akamai Control Center.
  4. In “Access Token,” paste the token value.
  5. In “Secret Expiry Date,” enter the date your access token expires, as shown in Akamai Control Center. (This is not embedded in the token metadata and must be entered manually.)
2. Click “Save.”
3. Control can now access and manage your Akamai Cloud resources.
